First Day of Skiing!

Saturday December 8th
I got to go skiing for the first time today! I got all of my equiptment in order, than ran down to the bus (being late). I missed the first bus, but out of coicidence Emily was at my stop (she took the wrong stop). The buses only run every half hour on Saturdays, so we waited for the next bus. I then took another bus from the Dornbirn Bahnhof up to Bödele to meet up with Thomas, Paul, Hanno and a couple of his friends. It was a rather foggy day with flat light, but the snow was great, powder all day, and it was fun to just ski around with friends. At one point, I took a left instead of a right and ended up separated from the others for about 40 minutes. There are tons of little huts and lodges around the mountain, for both summer and winter use, so I just took a break in the Dornbirn Hütte and tried to call my friends. Thomas didn’t have his phone, and I didn’t know anyone elses numbers so I tried calling other friends outside of the hill to get in contact with them. I didn’t, but there are only three or four lifts in little Bödele, so I went down to the base of the main lift and luckily met up with all of the others. Turns out they called the same friend I did and it all worked out. We took a couple more runs, then went in for lunch. Afterward, we skied until about 3:30, then Thomas and I went to his cabin to hang out a while before I went home. We had cakes from his mom, watched the world cup for skiing, and played FIFA (which I surprisingly won). Thomas’s dad took me and Valeria (a friend of Thomas’s sister Nicole) to the bus and we took it back home.
