Exploring Innsbruck

Saturday January 12th
For breakfast today we put together a classic American spread. Pancakes, eggs and bacon flowed through the kitchen. It was a good time, and tasted like home. We woke up late and it tooke a while to make/clean up breakfast so we headed to the city and stayed there the rest of the day. First we went into an Asian market then headed to another really popular mall. We shopped around a while, got some peanuts, and then went to get another, better look of the Maria Thereisen Straße. Juliet took us to a free art museum that turned out to be about narcicism. All manner of contemporary art and films were playing so we spent some time browsing around. Being cheap exchange students we went to McDonalds for dinner. We walked some more and saw a few main landmarks. There was the Landestheater, which plays the biggest performances in the city. The base of a gondola that was designed by a famous architect whose name I forgot. As well as another large and grand government building none of us knew the purpose of.  It was almost time for our movie, so we crossed the Inn river and entered the theater. We saw The Hobbit in 3D, and it was taken in different ways by my friends. Mark loved it, Keegan absolutely hated it, and I am kind of on the fence. Although I was asleep for a part of the movie so I am not a good person to ask. The quality and animation was incredible for sure. We returned the disco we were at yesterday and took the night bus home later.

It's amazing what fine architecture in a beautiful setting will do for the soul.
