Late Christmas and Dinner/Artshow in Bregenz

Friday January 18th
I was going to go with the Film Club to Tyrol today to make a movie, but I ended up staying in Dornbirn for the weekend. For lunch I made a visit to Schwarzach to say hi to Family Thurnher and to get my Christmas gifts that finally came! Agnes of course made an amazing 3 course meal and the whole family was able to come for lunch. We visited for a while, and watched a ski race, then I opened up my much-awaited package. I got a sweater, a memory card for my phone, cheetos, dark chocolate covered pomegranate, and a cash deposit as my gifts (goody!). My parents and grandparents from America each sent a gift to Family Thurnher as well. They gave them a game, some Montana caramels and some Wildlife themed cookies. After saying goodbye I took the bus back home. In the evening we went to Bregenz for dinner and an art show. Family Hladik knew the owner of a local Gasthaus, which Martina decorated. I was encouraged to try a specialty which was basically just Wiener Schnitzel except with chicken instead of pork. It was delicious, and afterward we drove an art exhibit (where they knew one of the photographers). I really liked this painting of a mountain using only basic black lines, and a couple of the photos were outstanding. We spent about an hour perusing others work, then headed home. It was a full day and a day well spent.
