Matura Ball des BG Dornbirns

Friday Febraury 1st
Today was the BG Dornbirn Matura Ball. It is the basic principle as Prom, but all of the adults come and the graduating classes makes a big show. First, for lunch, we took the bus to Lustenau for Mexican food as a class. Since my arrival I haven’t had any real Mexican food. I’m on a drought. I have been to Viva in Bregenz but it was not up to standard. Sombrero’s in Lustenau was a little better but still nothing compared to La Tinga, La Parilla, Sante Fe Red’s, Taco Del Mar, Taco Bell, Taco Johns, Taco Johns, or any of the other many mexican restaurants in Bozeman. When I get back, I will be making a midnight Taco Bell run rest assured. Anyway, we took the bus back to Dornbirn and I headed home for a while before the ball. We had dinner and I got all dressed up, then I rode with Morti, Conrad (also going to a different ball), and Marko to the Rathaus. I met up with Mätze, Adi, and Max at Mätze’s party basement they named “Gwölb”, I was told that it meant a large, round basement for keeping barrels of wine/beer in the olden days. We walked to the Kulturhaus shortly and began the celebrations. The whole school was there and everyone was chatting and drinking and having an overall good time. We checked our coats and began walking around and talking with friends. I was still sick and on heavy medication for my ear so it wasn’t really excellent for me. The seniors all presented a class video, a dance, and a skit in turn. They were all having a great time and it was fun to watch. I stayed until around midnight then walked back home. It was a good time, but being sick made it a bit less fun.
