Schladming Day 3: Women's Downhill

Sunday February 10th
Another continental breakfast was a nice way to way up in our new room. We had to switch yesterday because of the guest arrangements. We stopped by Sutterlüty on the way and got a drink, then watched the Women’s Downhill race. We had to leave early to catch our train, but we saw all of the big names race, and a lot of the best racers fell on the same, tight corner. The atmosphere of those races are really cool, people speaking all sorts of languages and flying all sorts of flags watch and cheer together. There weren’t many American flags flying at the Men’s downhill race (only 1 made it in the top 30, and he crashed), but the Women’s had many competitors and there were quite a few American supporters. Around 12:30 we picked up our luggage and said goodbye to Martina’s cousin before walking back to the train station. I just noticed, that even writing and speaking English I still say Bahnhof instead of train station. I guess it’s probably because we don’t use train stations in the U.S. hardly at all. Anyway we took the train back to Salzburg where we transferred again to head home. Marko picked us up at the train station and took us back home.
